Job Overview

A law firm seeks a licensed Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of general civil litigation experience for its Edwardsville, IL office. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in general civil litigation, particularly in cases involving medical negligence and general tort liability.

Duties

• Conduct thorough research, analysis, and interpretation of legal sources such as statutes, regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies.
• Maintain excellent client communication and service.

Requirements

• Good standing with the Illinois bar.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience.
• Medical malpractice experience preferred but not required.
• Deposition experience required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
