Job Overview:
A fast-growing estate planning and elder law firm in Georgia is seeking a motivated and compassionate Associate Attorney to join its team. This position is ideal for a mid- or senior-level attorney looking to transition into a more balanced and collaborative practice. The firm focuses on helping clients plan for the future, protect their assets, and care for their loved ones. Full-time is preferred, but part-time and of counsel roles will be considered for the right candidate. Multiple office locations are available, and solo or semi-retired practitioners are also encouraged to apply.
Location:
Duties:
Meet with prospective and current clients to provide legal guidance
Design and implement customized estate planning strategies
Draft estate planning documents, probate pleadings, and related legal filings
Prepare and attend probate court hearings
Oversee Medicaid planning and applications, including drafting of Medical Assistance planning letters
Supervise and delegate work to paralegals and administrative staff
Help shape firm processes to improve efficiency and client value
Contribute to firm culture and support long-term client relationships
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration
Prior experience handling Medicaid or VA pension benefits is a plus
Ability to manage cases independently and supervise legal staff
High level of integrity, professionalism, and client service focus
Open to full-time, part-time, or of counsel arrangements
Willingness to engage in long-term growth, potentially including future buy-in/buy-out opportunities
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the State of Georgia
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Comfortable with delegation and team collaboration
Emotionally intelligent, personable, and able to build rapport with clients
High attention to detail and a passion for thorough, quality work
Proficient in legal drafting and Microsoft Office tools
