Job Overview:
A respected multi-state law firm is actively recruiting an Associate Attorney to join its Georgia office. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of litigation experience, preferably with a background in consumer or commercial collection matters. The position offers hands-on litigation experience and the opportunity to develop in a dynamic legal practice focused on creditor’s rights.
Location:
Atlanta, Georgia
Duties:
Manage legal cases from inception to resolution in the area of consumer and commercial collections
Prepare and review pleadings and legal documentation
Attend court hearings and conduct motion practice
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and debtors
Collaborate with legal staff and fellow attorneys on case strategy
Ensure compliance with applicable consumer protection laws
Maintain communication with clients and internal teams
Requirements:
1–3 years of experience in litigation, preferably collection litigation
Strong understanding of court procedures and case management
Ability to handle a high-volume caseload effectively
Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and related statutes preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia
Admission in additional states is a plus
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong legal research and drafting abilities
Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines
Capable of working independently and within a team
