A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Commercial Litigation and Personal Injury in Houston, TX. This role offers the opportunity to manage cases independently, engage directly with clients, and develop courtroom skills under the mentorship of experienced trial lawyers.

Duties

• Manage own caseload with support from paralegals and clerks.
• Collaborate with partners on strategy, motions, and trial preparation.
• Conduct depositions, motion practice, and client communications.
• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and Daubert challenges.
• Lead written discovery and manage privilege logs.
• Appear in state and federal court and assist at trial.
• Negotiate settlements where appropriate.
• Utilize AI-enabled litigation tools, Westlaw, and O'Connor's.
• Support marketing, CLE involvement, and outreach initiatives.

Requirements

• 1-4 years of civil litigation experience, including written discovery.
• Working knowledge of Texas civil procedure.
• Comfortable using legal technology and interested in AI tools.
• Clear communicator who works well within a team.

Education

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar.

Skills

• Strong case management and client communication skills.
• Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
