Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly experienced Trademark Special Project Lawyer to manage and oversee complex trademark matters. The role requires deep expertise in trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement, focusing on providing strategic advice and exceptional client service.

Duties:

• Conduct trademark clearance searches, analyze results, and prepare detailed clearance reports.
• Draft and file Office Action responses and manage trademark prosecution proceedings.
• Review trademark maintenance requirements and assess specimen submissions for compliance.
• Conduct infringement investigations and recommend appropriate actions.
• Handle opposition and cancellation proceedings before trademark authorities.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.
• Minimum 8 years of direct experience specializing in trademark law, with a proven track record in all facets of trademark practice.
• Experience with trademark licensing, IP due diligence, and related transactional work preferred.

Certifications:

• Certification in Intellectual Property Law preferred but not required.
