The Acute Stabilization Counselor is an integral part of our Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU) in Providence.  This crisis service and hospital diversion or step-down program provides a relaxing, protected and supervised non-hospital setting.  You will work in a multi-disciplinary team. Providing clinical case management and group treatment services to identified clients experiencing psychiatric and/or substance abuse problems. Holistic group approaches utilized such as meditative exercise, smoothie/nutritional groups, music, art, etc. The right candidate will have experience working with and treating co-occurring/substance abuse populations. The case manager will coordinate discharge-planning, serve as a liaison to community mental health centers and transition identified clients into appropriate after-care services. Must have a minimum of six months of community mental health experience.
