Duties:

• Advocate effectively for children and families, especially in special education and school discipline matters
• Collaborate with paralegals and senior associates to ensure timely legal processes
• Conduct legal research and produce various legal documents, including support letters, personal statements, and cover letters
• Attend school meetings as needed to assist with the management of special education and school discipline cases
• Maintain a high level of responsibility and accountability for managing caseloads
• Communicate complex legal matters clearly to clients, especially in emotionally charged situations
• Track case progress and enter notes and billable hours into the Case Management System
• Work with private and governmental agencies to move cases forward efficiently

Requirements:

• Experience in special education or school discipline law (either personal or professional)
• Must be licensed to practice law in California or another state
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• A deep understanding of children's law
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be a licensed attorney, admitted to practice law in California or another state

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Ability to handle high-stress and emotional situations
• Strong advocacy skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• High level of accountability and responsibility in managing client cases
