Job Overview:
A well-regarded California-based law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of experience to join its Environment & Land Use practice. The firm advises both public and private sector clients across industries such as renewable energy, transportation, utilities, housing, commercial development, and public infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact environmental and land use matters, assume significant early responsibility, and collaborate with other legal teams in a collegial, hybrid work environment.
Location:
Tucson, AZ
Duties:
Conduct land use and environmental due diligence for public and private development projects
Provide legal counsel on land use entitlements and environmental/resource permitting
Advise clients on CEQA and NEPA compliance requirements and strategies
Assist in the defense of zoning and environmental approvals in state and federal court
Collaborate with attorneys in related practice groups on multidisciplinary projects
Requirements:
2–5 years of relevant legal experience in environmental and/or land use law
Demonstrated interest in environmental and regulatory legal matters
Familiarity with CEQA, NEPA, permitting processes, and administrative law
Litigation experience related to land use or environmental approvals is preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active member of the State Bar of California (required)

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Effective verbal and written communication
Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively across legal disciplines
