Assistant Counsel, Regulatory
The candidate will take ownership of regulatory projects and tasks in e-money, wallets, ecosystems, digital assets, mobile and alternative payments, emerging payments technology and the payments industry. Partner cross-functionally with members of Western Union’s global Legal team (including Product and Regional Business Legal colleagues) as well as the Business, our Compliance team, and other stakeholders. Should have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Should have 3-5 years of experience practicing either in-house or at a reputable law firm with at least some experience focused on payments law, FinTech, or digital assets and blockchain space. Should be admitted to practice law in the United States. Should be confident self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. Should work effectively in both team and independent environments. Should demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely on complex matters. Should be comfortable interpreting and applying the law in unsettled contexts and have a demonstrated ability to provide sound legal advice and exercise good business judgment. Should value a strong culture of ethics and compliance.
