Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Louisville, KY office. This role offers the opportunity to gain immediate litigation experience and contribute to a team dedicated to helping everyday people through personal injury cases. Some work may be performed remotely.

Duties

• Draft and argue motions for litigation files.
• Attend court hearings and legal proceedings.
• Draft and edit legal documents, including briefs and settlement agreements.
• Collaborate with clients and staff to efficiently resolve cases.
• Negotiate with defense attorneys and insurance companies.
• Manage pre-litigation files and conduct jury trials as needed.
• Engage in appellate and deposition practice.
• Develop trial strategy with lead attorney.
• Participate in optional marketing activities.
• Conduct legal research and provide counsel with senior attorneys.
• Organize and maintain accurate case files.

Requirements

• Completion of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Passed or scheduled to take the Kentucky bar exam.
• Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn from senior attorneys.

Education

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Passed the Kentucky bar exam or scheduled to take it.
