Job Title: Civil Litigation (Defense)Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A Pasadena-based law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its civil litigation defense team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience handling personal injury and professional liability matters. This position involves active case management, court appearances, depositions, and client communication, with the expectation of working onsite full-time.

Duties:

• Oversee a portfolio of civil litigation matters from initiation through resolution

• Conduct legal research and draft motions, including summary judgment and demurrers

• Participate in all phases of discovery, including taking and defending depositions

• Attend court proceedings and represent clients at hearings

• Engage in regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance

• Ensure timely adherence to litigation deadlines and procedural requirements

Requirements:

• Licensed and authorized to practice law in California

• Prior exposure to personal injury and professional liability litigation

• Proficiency in motion practice and courtroom advocacy

• Comfortable managing multiple matters and deadlines independently

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients, team members, and legal staff

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership with the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Familiarity with litigation management software and legal databases

• Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
