A law firm seeks an experienced Estate Planning Associate Attorney in Chapel Hill, NC. This role involves leading and expanding a new estate planning practice within an established firm, with opportunities to support ART and family formation matters.

Duties

• Serve as the lead attorney for estate planning matters, drafting and reviewing core planning documents.
• Provide compassionate guidance to individuals and families on key life decisions.
• Develop and grow a client base with firm support in marketing and business development.
• Shape workflows, templates, and client experience standards for a new practice area.
• Collaborate with a supportive team while managing matters independently.
• Engage with clients from consultation through plan delivery.

Requirements

• Licensed in North Carolina.
• 4+ years of estate planning experience.
• Comfortable managing matters independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Organized, responsive, and conscientious.
• Values inclusivity and affirms LGBTQ+ individuals and families.
• Interest in ART, surrogacy, or donor agreement work.
• Able to work in person from Chapel Hill, NC office ~four days per week.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
