Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Austin, TX is seeking a junior to mid-level associate to join its Structured Finance group. This hybrid-role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-level transactional matters involving derivatives and complex financing structures. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated experience in structured finance documentation and derivatives regulation, with a strong ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate documentation under ISDA Master Agreements, including Schedules, Confirmations, and Credit Support Annexes

  • Provide regulatory guidance related to Dodd-Frank and ISDA protocols

  • Advise on OTC derivatives transactions and related structured financial products

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to ensure regulatory and transactional compliance

  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex financial issues

  • Deliver high-quality, timely legal deliverables under tight deadlines

  • Participate in client meetings and conference calls as needed

  • Support partners and senior attorneys on sophisticated finance matters

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of direct experience in structured finance and derivatives

  • Familiarity with ISDA documentation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Dodd-Frank)

  • Prior large law firm or equivalent high-caliber experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and business communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and shift priorities effectively

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar (or eligibility to waive in)

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills

  • Precision in document review and attention to detail

  • Strategic thinking and sound legal judgment

  • Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
