A law firm seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney to join its Employment Law department in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law and a passion for advocating for employee rights. This role involves leading complex cases and contributing to the firm's mission of protecting California workers.

Duties

• Lead and manage complex employment litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including those of expert witnesses.
• Make regular court appearances, including hearings and conferences.
• Prepare for and handle trials and arbitrations with minimal supervision.
• Oversee and contribute to law and motion practice.
• Mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff.
• Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners.
• Perform high-level legal research and writing.
• Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
• Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.
• Participate in case reviews and firm development initiatives.

Requirements

• 4-5 years of litigation experience in Employment Law.
• Demonstrated trial and arbitration experience.
• Strong command of California Civil Procedure and Employment Law statutes.
• Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Proven ability to manage and drive a full caseload independently.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys or staff.
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Professional, punctual, and reliable.
• Must be able to commute daily to the Downtown Los Angeles office.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
