Contracts Specialist

Duties: Facilitating the review and approval of clinical trial agreements as well as material transfer, confidentiality and other research-related agreements; resolving budget and compliance issues for contracts; serving as liaison between faculty, staff, and outside funders on contracts related matters including negotiating and ensuring terms comply with University requirements; serving as a reviewing award terms and conditions, and adjusting the Scope of Work and Budget sections of the contract, as required; securing review and approval from University Counsel for all such documents; working with the Contracts Manager to educate and train Principal Investigators and research personnel on University and Sponsor regulations and guidelines, with emphasis on the contracts management function, and provide assistance in developing and revising policies and procedures; preparing internal reports regarding contract administration activities; assisting with the development and presentation of training materials; and serving as a mentor and training resource for college and unit technical and administrative staff. Will be responsible for entering and tracking all contract activity in electronic research administration system (eRA@TU). Will primarily handle clinical trial-related duties, all contract personnel are cross-trained to handle other contracts when necessary and perform other duties as assigned.
