Mid-Level Attorney - Employment Defense Litigation and Counseling

A law firm seeks a talented and motivated mid-level attorney with 4-6 years of experience to join their Labor & Employment Group in New York, NY. This role offers significant hands-on responsibility and the opportunity to take a lead role on matters while working closely with partners and clients.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of employment defense litigation, including factual investigation, drafting position statements and pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
• Take ownership of cases and manage day-to-day litigation activities.
• Conduct depositions, appear in court, and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and provide timely, strategic analysis and recommendations to clients.
• Counsel clients on employment-related issues, including reductions in force, terminations, equal pay audits, workplace investigations, and compliance with employment laws.
• Draft employment policies, agreements, separation agreements, and training materials.
• Provide M&A support and conduct employment diligence into target companies.
• Work closely with partners on litigation strategy and client development.

Requirements

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
• Four to six years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Education

• Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
