A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate to join its New York office. This role is ideal for attorneys with 4 to 7 years of litigation experience who are skilled in managing complex commercial disputes and have familiarity with New York’s Commercial Division. The position involves representing sophisticated corporate clients in high-stakes litigation and regulatory matters in both state and federal courts.

Location

Duties

• Manage complex commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution

• Represent corporate clients in federal and state court proceedings, including the Commercial Division of New York state court

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

• Prepare for and conduct depositions, hearings, and trials

• Oversee discovery processes, including document review and production

• Provide strategic litigation counsel and risk assessment to clients

• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration proceedings

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and support junior attorneys

• Maintain and build strong relationships with corporate clients

Requirements

• 4–7 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm or similar setting

• Significant experience in New York’s Commercial Division preferred

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters under tight deadlines

• Experience representing financial institutions, large corporations, or similar clients

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of New York

• Strong litigation and courtroom advocacy skills

• Exceptional negotiation and client communication abilities

• Ability to mentor junior attorneys and collaborate within a legal team
