Job Title: Junior to Mid-Level Structured Finance Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly motivated Junior to Mid-Level Associate with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in derivatives and structured finance. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to engage in complex transactional work, including the negotiation and drafting of structured finance documents and regulatory compliance materials. The role involves collaboration across various practice groups and direct interaction with institutional clients.

Duties:

• Draft and negotiate agreements under the ISDA Master Agreement framework, including Schedules, Credit Support Annexes, and Confirmations

• Provide counsel on over-the-counter derivatives and related regulatory matters (e.g., Dodd-Frank protocols)

• Support transactions involving structured financial products and instruments

• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to derivatives and finance

• Collaborate with legal teams and clients to develop innovative financing structures

• Maintain awareness of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and market practices

• Prepare and review documentation to ensure legal and regulatory compliance

• Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base and mentorship initiatives where appropriate

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of post-JD experience in structured finance and derivatives

• Demonstrated proficiency in negotiating and drafting ISDA documentation

• Previous experience at a large law firm or with complex financial institutions is preferred

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the District of Columbia

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in Washington, DC
