Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented Litigation Attorney with at least three years of experience to join its litigation practice in Greenville, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have exposure to general business litigation and experience handling eminent domain and real estate litigation matters.

Duties

• Represent business and property-owner clients in a range of disputes from pre-suit strategy through trial.
• Collaborate with partners and clients on case strategy, discovery, motion practice, negotiation, and trial.
• Handle complex contract and commercial tort disputes, real property rights issues, and eminent domain proceedings.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions; manage written discovery and depositions.
• Work with experts and develop valuation and damages theories.
• Prepare for and conduct hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Advise clients on risk mitigation, settlement options, and litigation strategy.
• Contribute to business development and firm marketing efforts.

Requirements

• Solid foundation in civil procedure and evidence.
• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Sound judgment under pressure.
• Experience with business disputes and eminent domain/real estate litigation.
• Experience managing discovery and depositions, and appearing in court.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Good standing with the North Carolina Bar preferred; eligibility for transfer admission considered.
