A law firm seeks an experienced commercial attorney to join its in-house global Risk team in New York, NY. The role involves addressing a range of legal, ethical, business, and strategic issues, drafting and negotiating complex client-facing contracts, and advising partners on client requirements.

Duties

• Work across a spectrum of legal, ethical, business, and strategic issues.
• Draft and negotiate complex client-facing agreements for various business sectors.
• Ensure client contracts comply with ethical standards and internal policies.
• Identify and mitigate business and legal risks in client contracts.
• Advise partners on client agreements and business-related requests.
• Draft and manage agreements, templates, and external communications.
• Assist in drafting responses to client compliance and risk-related audits.
• Enhance the efficiency of the commercial legal support provided by the Risk team.
• Supervise and collaborate with the Risk team's administrative staff.
• Collaborate with business partners and teams across the firm.

Requirements

• JD and at least 4 years of experience at a top-tier law firm.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage priorities.
• Ability to make risk-based assessments and solve problems.
• Proactive, resourceful, and strong work ethic.

• Juris Doctor (JD)
