A nationally respected law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 4 to 7 years of experience to join its Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile, complex insurance coverage and reinsurance matters. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent academic credentials, and a demonstrated ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a high-performing team.

Location

• Stamford, CT

Duties

• Represent insurers in complex insurance and reinsurance litigation

• Analyze and litigate issues involving:

  • Professional liability policies

  • General liability policies

  • Directors & Officers (D&O) policies

• Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and litigation correspondence

• Conduct and manage all aspects of discovery, including motion practice

• Take and defend depositions

• Handle court appearances appropriate to experience level

• Engage in business development and client relationship activities (preferred)

• Manage case files independently while collaborating with team members

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation

• Strong working knowledge of policy interpretation and insurance dispute resolution

• Experience with drafting complex motions and managing discovery

• Deposition and court appearance experience preferred

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and efficiently

• Demonstrated leadership and initiative in legal practice

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Skills

• Outstanding legal research, writing, and oral advocacy

• Strategic litigation planning and execution

• Excellent organizational, time management, and client service skills

• Familiarity with litigation management software and legal research tools

• Collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset
