Intake Attorney (Immigration)
A prominent law firm based in Orange, CA, is seeking a dedicated Immigration Intake Attorney to serve as the primary point of contact for potential clients pursuing immigration legal services. This role is ideal for an experienced immigration law practitioner with a strong grasp of intake protocols and client strategy assessment. The position involves leadership over the intake team, direct client interactions, and occasional legal work on immigration filings and court preparations.
Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients
Assess client eligibility and recommend legal options
Supervise intake paralegals and contractors to ensure accuracy of scopes, retainers, and client questionnaires
Relay vital client information to the Intake Committee for case review
Oversee new case assignments and workflow within the intake team
Participate in recruiting and onboarding intake personnel
Guide clients and intake staff through various immigration pathways, including removal defense and family petitions
Occasionally review and revise immigration filings prepared by the team
Occasionally, prepare clients and witnesses for USCIS interviews or court hearings
Conduct case law research and draft analytical notes or summaries
Contribute to legal brief preparation for diverse immigration case types
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on immigration law experience
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
Strong interpersonal communication and client-facing skills
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team
Familiarity with removal defense, family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, naturalization, and other USCIS processes
Comfortable managing sensitive intake conversations and delivering strategic assessments
Background in legal sales or client conversion is advantageous
Capable of escalating intake issues and proposing effective resolutions
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admitted and in good standing with a U.S. state bar (California bar preferred)
Active bar licensure in any U.S. jurisdiction (California preferred)
