Job Title: Immigration Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A law firm based in Houston, TX, is seeking a driven Immigration Associate Attorney to support its mission-driven legal practice focused exclusively on immigration matters. Duties:
Conduct legal consultations with prospective clients and provide clear guidance on immigration options and eligibility
Represent individuals and families in various immigration matters, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and employment-based processes
Prepare and review petitions, applications, and supporting documentation for submission to USCIS, EOIR, NVC, and other immigration agencies
Participate in hearings and interviews before immigration courts and agencies
Provide leadership on case strategy while collaborating with paralegals and support staff
Stay current with immigration law updates and attend regular firmwide legal and skills training sessions
Contribute to firm growth by supporting marketing initiatives aligned with language fluency or community needs
Assist with mentoring and knowledge sharing among junior team members, when appropriate
Requirements:
Active U.S. license to practice law (any state or jurisdiction)
2-5 years of experience in immigration law, with proven success in client consultation and representation
High level of empathy and a strong commitment to client service and integrity
Ability to manage a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced but supportive environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to a U.S. state bar in good standing
Skills:
Proficiency in conducting legal analysis and preparing high-quality immigration filings
Strong client engagement and interpersonal communication
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a legal team
Fluency in English required; Spanish or other language fluency highly beneficial
Technologically adept with the ability to navigate case management systems and virtual communication tools
