A law firm seeks an associate with 2 to 8 years of litigation experience to join its Las Vegas office. The practice includes general liability, product liability, premises liability, and catastrophic injury cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in depositions, discovery, motion practice, and pre-trial preparation. Strong research and writing skills are essential, along with the ability to interact professionally with opposing counsel and clients.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 10-20 matters
• Investigate claims and develop case strategies
• Draft and respond to discovery
• Review and analyze documents for production
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and submit pleadings and motions
• Attend hearings and argue motions
• Prepare pre-trial and trial documents
• Prepare cases for mediation/trial and participate in mediation/trial
• Report effectively to clients

Requirements

• Excellent academic credentials from a reputable law school
• Admission to the bar in Nevada
• Extensive experience in all aspects of litigation
• Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
• Effective oral advocacy skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Nevada

Skills
