Job Overview:
A forward-thinking intellectual property law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Patent Agent with a minimum of two years of patent prosecution experience to join its growing team. Duties:
Draft and prosecute patent applications across a range of technologies
Lead and participate in invention disclosure meetings with clients
Communicate directly with clients to incorporate feedback during drafting and prosecution
Conduct Examiner interviews and draft responses to office actions
Prepare and submit appeal briefs and present oral arguments before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB)
Manage prosecution responsibilities independently, with mentorship support as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in U.S. patent prosecution
Strong understanding of USPTO procedures and patent law
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned matters
Willingness to engage directly with clients and examiners
Education:
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Other degrees such as Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Software Engineering will also be considered
Certifications:
Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail in drafting and prosecuting patents
Client-focused mindset with the ability to manage feedback constructively
Familiarity with cutting-edge technologies including AR/VR and machine learning
