Job Title: General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Los Angeles, CA, is currently seeking a seasoned litigation associate to join its team, specializing in general liability and aviation matters. This role offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative litigation group on high-stakes cases across California. Ideal candidates will possess strong case management skills, extensive deposition experience, and a deep understanding of complex civil litigation.

Duties:

• Manage a portfolio of general liability and aviation cases throughout California

• Conduct and defend depositions, including those of expert and lay witnesses

• Draft and review pleadings, discovery requests, and responses

• Prepare pre-trial motions and court filings (including e-filing)

• Engage in trial preparation and courtroom support

• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of billable hours

• Develop a litigation strategy in coordination with supervising attorneys and clients

• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in general liability and/or aviation defense litigation

• Proven ability to independently manage cases from intake through resolution

• Strong background in deposition strategy and execution

• High-level proficiency in motion practice and legal research

• Effective multitasking skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Commitment to detail and case strategy development

Education:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills

• Strong verbal communication and advocacy abilities

• Proficiency with electronic court filing systems and legal software tools

• Organizational aptitude with a proactive problem-solving mindset
