Associate General Counsel

Duties: Drafts, reviews, and revises legal documentation for a variety of matters, including, but not limited to contracts, amendments, UVA Health System transactions, and legal correspondence. Provides general legal advice to UPG administrative and clinical departments. Assists in managing the contracting functions for administrative and clinical departments. Assists with the UPG healthcare compliance effort to ensure that the policies and procedures of UPG comply with applicable laws and regulations, and assists with investigation of potential compliance concerns. Works with representatives from various departments to assist with legal needs of department, as assigned. Provides specific legal support to administrative and clinical departments, such as billing and collections, structuring new business ventures, workers compensation actions, UPG personnel and related employment matters, and company policies. Monitors legislation affecting overall company operations, with a particular focus on healthcare regulatory landscape. Confers with and assists outside legal counsel on a variety of legal matters. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Understands and adheres to UPGs compliance standards. Supports and participates in various UPG teams, as assigned. Completes other tasks as assigned by General Counsel & Chief of Staff.
