The successful candidate will handle all aspects of workers' compensation cases, from case evaluation through litigation and settlement, offering strategic legal guidance to clients while managing a full caseload. This role requires an attorney with strong experience in workers' compensation defense who can navigate complex legal issues effectively.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation cases, ranging in complexity
• Develop and execute litigation strategies for each case
• Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and correspondence
• Prepare cases thoroughly for trial, including conducting discovery and other pre-trial processes
• Attend court appearances, depositions, and mediations as required
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients' interests in hearings and trials
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Collaborate with clients and legal teams to ensure all actions align with the client’s objectives

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense
• Expertise in managing full caseloads, including complex cases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven negotiation abilities and legal acumen
• Ability to travel for court appearances and depositions

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in California
