Summer Associate Program

The program is designed to ensure summer associates receive maximum exposure to the core areas within private client and tax, such as domestic and international wealth planning, income tax, tax controversy and estate administration. In addition there may be opportunities to work with the business and litigation teams. Summer associates should anticipate receiving work identical to that of first year associates. This typically includes technical research projects, drafting, planning documents and memoranda for clients, and involvement in a variety of transactions for sophisticated clientele with a potential for client contact. Summer associates are invited to attend firm-wide training sessions (which are often conducted on a global basis via videoconferencing). The firm also runs a series of seminars specifically for summer associates, including sessions on income tax, cross-border planning, and estate and gift tax planning. A mentor is also assigned to ensure that there is someone on hand to answer any questions. The program runs for a ten-week period.
