Aon is looking for a Senior Counsel, Reinsurance Solutions As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions in support of Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business.  As part of Aon’s global law department and its North America legal team, this Senior Counsel would work in Minneapolis, Chicago or New York, and report to the Global Law & Compliance Leader, Reinsurance Solutions. Your impact as a Senior Counsel, Reinsurance Solutions Aon is seeking Senior Counsel candidates that are collaborative, forward-thinking, and looking for a role that supports a growth-oriented business.  Ideal candidates will have experience in insurance, reinsurance and/or capital markets transactions. The successful candidate will provide legal counsel across Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions, including its capital markets, data and analytics, and other consulting businesses in North America. Job Responsibilities:Having strong commercial legal experience and being able to provide expert legal counsel to the business;Structuring, negotiating and drafting contracts for complex commercial arrangements arising in Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business, including service agreements with clients, technology license agreements, and contracts with vendors, strategic partners and other third parties;Interpreting and advising on several regulatory regimes, including those applicable to brokers and other services providers in the insurance, reinsurance, securities, derivatives, and investment advisory industries;Serving as a strategic partner to business teams as they develop new service offerings, obtain or expand client engagements, respond to legal and regulatory changes, and resolve contractual issues – all of which require collaboration with business colleagues across our management, broking, client services, and operations teams;Working in partnership with law department colleagues and business leaders to support, and in some cases manage, strategic initiatives related to new products or services, risk mitigation, and process improvements;Collaborating with a global team of law and compliance professionals to advise on a wide variety of transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters arising from Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions business and other Aon United solutions in North America.You Bring Knowledge and Expertise:J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and a current license to practice law;A minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal position;Experience in insurance, reinsurance, capital markets, investment advisory, and/or other related financial services industries, along with the regulatory regimes related to those industries;Experience structuring, negotiating and drafting contracts for complex commercial arrangements;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting;High level of self-direction and demonstration of sound judgment;Ability to create and deliver practical solutions that appropriately balance commercial objectives and legal risks;Versatility to lead projects and execute transactions over a range of business areas and functions with differing issues, requirements, and risks;Ability to simultaneously manage multiple time-sensitive projects and important relationships with stakeholders.We offer you A competitive total rewards package, continuing education & training, and tremendous potential with a growing worldwide organization. Our Colleague Experience: From helping clients gain access to capital after natural disasters, to creating access to health care and retirement for millions, Aon colleagues empower results for our clients, communities, and each other every day.  They make a difference, work with the best, own their potential, and value one another.  This is the Aon Colleague Experience, defining what it means to work at Aon and realizing our vision of empowering human and economic possibility.
