The firm is looking for someone with practical experience representing lenders or tax equity investors in complex project finance matters. Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to lenders, tax equity investors, and other stakeholders in renewable energy project finance transactions.
  • Assist with structuring, negotiating, and documenting financing agreements, including tax equity investments, loans, and other financing arrangements.
  • Advise clients on regulatory, compliance, and legal risks associated with project finance in the renewable energy industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, developers, and financial advisors, to support project financing.
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare detailed legal opinions on transactional matters.
  • Review and analyze project documents, including contracts, financing agreements, and regulatory filings.
  • Support the firm’s partners and senior attorneys in managing complex legal matters from inception through to closing.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in project finance, with a focus on renewable energy transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience in representing lenders, tax equity investors, or similar parties in project finance deals.
  • Ability to manage complex transactional work and interact with clients effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team of professionals.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (or ability to obtain licensure as needed).

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of renewable energy project finance, including tax equity, loans, and other financing arrangements.
  • Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and contract review.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and offer innovative solutions to complex legal issues.
