Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Intake Attorney to serve as the first point of contact for prospective immigration clients. This role involves overseeing the intake process and team, conducting consultations, and ensuring accurate evaluation and onboarding of new cases. This is an excellent opportunity for a bilingual attorney with a background in immigration law who is passionate about client service and operational excellence.

Duties:
Conduct strategic consultations with prospective immigration clients
Supervise intake paralegals and contract preparers to ensure scopes/retainers and questionnaires are accurate and complete
Review and assign new business intake files
Communicate valuable case information to the Intake Committee for evaluation
Assist in recruiting and hiring for the legal intake department
Explain immigration concepts and solutions to clients and staff
Inform clients about applicable immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
Occasionally review application packets and prepare clients/witnesses for USCIS or court appearances
Conduct legal research and provide analysis on case viability and benefits
Contribute to the preparation and submission of legal briefs for various immigration matters
Requirements:
3–5 years of experience in immigration law
Supervisory experience preferred
Sales or client engagement background is a plus
Proven track record of progressing legal cases efficiently
Knowledge of family-based, humanitarian, removal defense (detained and non-detained), citizenship, and other USCIS applications
Experience with legal intake processes and team management
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
Skills:
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage intake workflow and handle client relationships
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with legal case management software
Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and escalate matters appropriately
