Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on international trade compliance issues, including US export controls, economic sanctions, and CFIUS foreign investment national security reviews.
  • Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and correspondence related to international trade compliance matters.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of voluntary disclosures, license applications, and other regulatory filings.
  • Review and analyze client transactions for compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop compliance strategies and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington, D.C. bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade compliance, with a focus on US export controls, economic sanctions, and/or CFIUS foreign investment national security reviews.
  • Government experience will be viewed favorably.
  • Strong academic record with a demonstrated interest in international trade law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington, D.C. bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
