Job Overview:
A Washington, D.C.-based law firm is actively seeking a mid-level associate to join its Government Contracts practice. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team within the corporate practice group, representing a variety of clients in complex matters involving federal and state procurement. The position will involve hands-on litigation responsibilities and advisory work across a diverse client base operating in highly regulated government sectors.

Duties:

• Handle bid protest litigation before GAO, Court of Federal Claims, and agency-level forums

• Advise clients on compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other federal acquisition regulations

• Draft and review claims under the Contract Disputes Act

• Represent clients in disputes arising under federal government contracts

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, memoranda, and briefs

• Counsel clients on risk mitigation strategies and contract interpretation

• Support negotiations and contract reviews related to cooperative agreements and grants

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of focused experience in government contracts law

• Direct experience with GAO and COFC bid protests, and contract claims litigation

• Familiarity with key federal procurement statutes and regulatory frameworks

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple legal matters efficiently and independently

• Membership in good standing with the Maryland Bar or the DC Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in Washington, DC, or Maryland (required)

• Detail-oriented approach to regulatory compliance and risk assessment
