Profile

A law firm is seeking an E-Discovery / Document Review Counsel for its Columbia office.

 

Job Overview:

  • Act as the primary liaison between merits counsel, client teams, and review teams, ensuring seamless project execution from implementation through closeout.
  • Manage multiple teams to efficiently navigate data through the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) while providing substantive and technological support to attorney-led discovery efforts.
  • Prepare essential documentation for matter support, including project specifications, tracking, review manuals, and reports.
  • Monitor daily activity, provide status reports, administer feedback to first-level reviewers, and resolve unforeseen issues to ensure projects remain on track and within budget.
  • Regularly communicate with QC (Quality Control) and leadership teams to ensure exceptional work-product, track project progress, adhere to established timelines, and perform final quality checks.

 

Duties:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in the e-discovery process.
  • Manage multiple review teams to efficiently progress through the EDRM stages.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including specifications, tracking reports, and review manuals.
  • Monitor daily activities, provide status reports, and administer feedback to maintain project alignment.
  • Utilize litigation technology, including Relativity, Concordance, Cellebrite, and Clearwell, to support e-discovery efforts.
  • Evaluate production set quality using complex queries, metrics, and other analytical tools.
  • Develop and implement project management processes and systems to ensure predictable results for large and complex projects.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in managing large document review teams, preferably in a legal environment.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Working knowledge of litigation technology, including key applications and databases.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills, including report development and process improvement.
  • Experience managing quality control processes for document review projects.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in e-discovery tools such as Relativity, Concordance, Cellebrite, and Clearwell.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
