A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Attorney to support its dispute resolution practice in New York City, New York. The successful candidate will manage a range of business-to-business disputes, from initial pleadings through dispositive motions and trial preparation, providing strategic counsel and high-quality advocacy.

Duties

• Manage all phases of commercial litigation matters, including drafting complaints, answers, motions, and discovery requests.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex contract and commercial law issues.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, arbitration hearings, and court proceedings.
• Advise clients on case strategy, risk assessment, and settlement options.
• Collaborate with partners, senior associates, and support staff to coordinate case timelines and deliverables.
• Maintain detailed case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and firm procedures.

Requirements

• 2 years of litigation experience, with a primary focus on commercial disputes.
• Active admission to the New York State Bar.
• Demonstrated experience in motion practice and courtroom advocacy.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral advocacy and client counseling skills.
• Proven capability to manage multiple matters and meet critical deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

• Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and electronic court filing systems (e.g., NYSCEF).
• Expertise in drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
