Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employee Benefits Associate in Riverside, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in qualified retirement plans and a keen interest in non-ERISA public retirement plans and church plans.

Duties

• Design and ensure compliance of qualified retirement plans.
• Draft plan documents and summary plan descriptions.
• Negotiate service provider contracts and review investment management agreements.
• Counsel plan sponsors and fiduciaries on compliance and best practices.
• Manage and maintain significant client relationships.
• Develop new business and supervise team members.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with qualified retirement plans.
• Knowledge of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related regulations.
• Experience with IRS voluntary compliance programs and governmental 457(b) plans.
• Familiarity with the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Admitted to practice in California.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California Bar admission.
