Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Jackson, MS. The candidate will assist injured clients by filing legal complaints, offering legal advice, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in court.

Duties

• Answer clients' questions and guide them through the personal injury process.
• Ensure proper legal representation in auto accident and premise liability cases.
• Work with experts and partners to evaluate case merits and develop theories.
• Prepare witnesses and claimants for hearings, trials, and other proceedings.
• Take depositions of claimants, physicians, and other parties.
• Conduct discovery and draft legal documents.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of claimants.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree and three years of law school.
• Mississippi license to practice law and good standing with the Mississippi Bar.
• Three to five years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Mississippi.
