Employment Counsel

The candidate will be providing advice to People & Culture team on how to comply with employment laws worldwide. Topics include contracts offer letters, job classifications, compensation, pay equity, benefits, leaves of absence, recruitment, background screening, employee mobility, immigration, performance management, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, terminations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, disability, safety, whistleblowing and Code of Conduct matters. Support the People & Culture team with regard to creating a representative and diverse culture. Managing employment-related disputes and litigation and government administrative proceedings, including managing outside counsel. Communicating empathetically and making sure employees feel heard, valued and recognized for their contributions, especially during difficult conversations. Assessing risks under pressure and being able to give clear and decisive advice to managers across all business units. Providing direction and oversight for workplace investigations. Collaborating with People & Culture to develop processes and procedures appropriate to the company’s risk profile. Delivering employee training on employment law, ethics and integrity, among other topics.
