A law firm seeks a dedicated Social Security Disability Attorney to join their team in North Carolina. The position is open to various office locations, including Durham, Greensboro, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem, NC.

Duties

  • Personally handle a caseload of Social Security disability cases from initial through the hearing level.
  • Assist and provide guidance to paralegals with their Social Security disability caseloads.
  • Engage in extensive client interaction, including intake review and subsequent communications.
  • Read and summarize voluminous medical records.
  • Prepare briefs and requests for on-the-record decisions to achieve successful resolutions for clients.
  • Prepare clients for hearings and advocate on their behalf before Administrative Law Judges.
  • Conduct opening and closing statements and cross-examine vocational witnesses.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed in any state and in good standing with the State Bar.
  • Two plus years of experience practicing Social Security Disability Law.
  • Advanced analytical and strong writing skills.
  • Deadline-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and assume significant responsibility.
  • Understanding of Social Security regulations, POMS, HALLEX, and related matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Bar Membership required.
