Title Staff Attorney
The candidate with advice from the General Counsel and outside law firms, reviews and negotiate contracts and other legal documents to ensure that contract and other documents meet business objectives and appropriately address legal issues. Provides legal advice on underwriting issues such as powers of attorney, trust documents, corporate documents, and other various issues as it relates to insuring title to real property. Examines real property title documents for the purpose of producing title insurance and other various title report products Outsource legal questions and contracts to outside counsel when house resources are insufficient. Assembles facts and communicates with other associates to gather information and advice from the General Counsel. Handles miscellaneous legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel. May be responsible for managing litigation involving the title company by working with bank associates and outside law firms. Performs all other duties as assigned. Should have a graduate degree (Juris Doctorate degree). Must have successfully passed the State Bar Exam and 5-10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft Office suite.
