Workers’ Compensation Attorney
A law firm based in Richmond, VA, is actively seeking a seasoned Workers’ Compensation Litigation Attorney to join its plaintiff-side advocacy team. This position offers the opportunity to represent injured individuals navigating the complexities of the workers' compensation system. The role involves managing a dynamic caseload, developing strategic case plans, and delivering compassionate legal representation, all while collaborating with dedicated support staff.
Provide legal consultation to clients, offering strategic advice on available remedies and best-case approaches
Analyze conflicts and construct effective legal tactics tailored to client circumstances
Conduct comprehensive legal research and compose pleadings, motions, briefs, and other case documents
Appear on behalf of clients in administrative hearings, depositions, and court proceedings
Prepare and file legal documentation with precision and in compliance with applicable rules and procedures
Maintain organized case files and ensure timely follow-up on all action items
Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants for optimal case management and client service
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing workers’ compensation claims from inception through resolution
Demonstrated litigation experience, including hearings or trial participation
Background in plaintiff-oriented or claimants’ side practice preferred
Strong command of legal research methodologies and legal drafting
Familiarity with case management platforms and digital litigation tools
Active law license in good standing and membership with the local bar
Clear commitment to delivering empathetic, effective client service
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or eligibility to waive in)
Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities tailored to legal contexts
Persuasive oral and written communication
Strong organizational habits and the ability to manage multiple concurrent cases
Proficiency in legal technology, including research platforms and document preparation software
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
