Patent Agent needed for Los Angeles office

A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in aerospace engineering and engine technology. The ideal candidate should be a registered patent agent with examining experience at the U.S. PTO or patent drafting experience in a law firm setting. Holding undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science is required. Strong preference will be given to candidates with previous experience as a patent examiner, and industry experience is a plus. The successful candidate must have excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical ability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct patent searches and analysis.
• Draft and prosecute patent applications in the aerospace and engine technology fields.
• Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to understand and protect intellectual property.
• Provide technical and legal support in patent litigation matters.
• Stay updated on changes in patent laws and regulations.
• Participate in patent portfolio management and strategy discussions.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior patent professionals.

Requirements:
