Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney specializing in Personal Injury cases. The ideal candidate will manage and litigate Personal Injury files from inception through trial, demonstrate strong leadership skills in managing litigation and pre-litigation teams, and commit to client interaction and case resolution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Handle and manage Personal Injury cases from filing through trial.
• Lead a litigation team, overseeing case strategy and execution.
• Supervise and manage a pre-litigation team to efficiently handle case preparation and negotiation.
• Conduct legal research using tools like Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis to analyze complex legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including complaints, discovery requests, and motions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, adjusters, staff, and opposing counsel.
• Develop case strategy and provide practical solutions to legal issues.
• Maintain high standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, and client confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar in good standing.
• Minimum 10 years of Personal Injury litigation experience, with preferred trial experience.
• Experience handling cases involving commercial motor vehicles is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage and lead litigation and pre-litigation teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to firm goals.
• Willingness to expand trial skills and pursue board certification in truck accident law is a plus.

Education, Certifications, and Skills:

• Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar in good standing.
• 5 years of Personal Injury litigation experience
• Minimum 10 years of litigation experience, preferably in Personal Injury law.
• Trial experience preferred; commercial case experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex legal issues and propose practical solutions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
