Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with one year of commercial litigation experience to join their team in Dallas, Texas. The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of business disputes, collaborating with seasoned litigators to manage all phases of litigation from initial case assessment through trial and appeal.

Duties

• Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court documents
• Conduct discovery, including preparing interrogatories, requests for production, and subpoenas
• Perform factual and legal research; summarize findings for senior attorneys
• Assist with depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to manage case progress
• Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and litigation databases
• Monitor deadlines, court rules, and procedural requirements

Requirements

• One year of experience in commercial litigation
• Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing
• Strong academic background from an accredited law school
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters under tight deadlines

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the Texas State Bar

• Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
