Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney in Seattle, WA, with at least three years of experience in all phases of commercial litigation. Experience in insurance defense is preferred. Candidates must be licensed in Washington and capable of working independently on complex insurance defense cases.

Duties

• Manage files throughout the litigation process independently and as part of a team.
• Conduct fact investigations.
• Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments of motions.
• Prepare for and attend trials, including trial team support and direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Washington.
• Minimum of three years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Experience in insurance defense preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Washington State Bar License.
