Transactional Attorney
The candidate' must have at least four years of tech/data/commercial transactions experience to join our team. The attorney will negotiate and draft a wide variety of agreements for our cutting-edge client base. The attorney also may work within the firm to develop templates and negotiation playbooks. Excellent drafting skills are a must. The position requires a highly motivated, forward-thinking individual with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment. Although we achieve national accolades (e.g., Law360’s recent Practice Groups of the Year for Privacy and Consumer Protection), we’re not BigLaw: we want attorneys who share our creative and efficient team-oriented approach to clients’ needs, and who can serve as a valued strategic counselor — not simply bill hours. In-house experience is valued; part-time schedules may be accommodated for the right candidate; more experienced attorneys are valued and welcome. Should have experience counseling clients on a variety of technology and IP transactions, such as the licensing of technology and other IP; the development and licensing of data; the distribution of products or content; SaaS arrangements; and the provision of other services. Should have familiarity with privacy law considerations that are part of commercial arrangements. Ability to skillfully draft and negotiate deals in uncharted territory and in areas beyond their comfort zone. Additional skills (preferred): Experience solving legal problems relating to new and emerging technologies and/or new business models. Experience with marketing and promotional arrangements. Experience with the tech/data side of large corporate transactions, e.g., working on M&A, financings, IPOs, or joint ventures.
