Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for Employment Litigation in San Francisco, CA. This full-time position offers a hybrid work environment and provides an opportunity to engage in meaningful litigation, focusing on cases involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and other workplace violations.

Duties

• Manage a docket of employment law cases from inception through trial.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court to argue motions and advocate for clients.
• Engage with clients and help shape case strategy.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
• Assist in trial preparation and serve as second chair where applicable.

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 1-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for employment law.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines.
• Desire to grow as a trial lawyer and litigator.
• Trial or trial-prep experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California State Bar membership.

Skills

• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
