Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced litigation associate to join its dynamic team in Corpus Christi, TX. This position offers a diverse and challenging docket, including cases in oil and gas, commercial litigation, wrongful death, and personal injury. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and analytical skills and be adept at managing a busy workload. Experience in corporate or personal injury defense is preferred. The role requires an attorney who can work independently, handle complex cases, and proactively contribute to the firm’s success. This opportunity allows flexibility with office locations in both Corpus Christi and San Antonio.

Duties

• Manage a wide variety of litigation matters, including commercial disputes, oil and gas litigation, and personal injury cases.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare strategies for complex litigation.
• Handle depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and advise clients.
• Independently manage case files and maintain client communication.
• Represent clients in court, negotiate settlements, and argue motions.
• Proactively track case deadlines and handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing.
• 2 to 10 years of litigation experience, preferably in corporate or personal injury defense.
• Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with oil and gas, commercial, and wrongful death litigation is a plus.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while being proactive in case management.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
