A law firm seeks a Consumer Protection and Real Estate Attorney to join its practice, based in Washington, DC (remote option available). This role offers the opportunity to deliver legal guidance to individual clients in the real estate and consumer protection spheres, handling a robust caseload while contributing to a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Duties
Deliver legal advice to individuals on real estate and timeshare issues
Negotiate resolutions with developers, homeowners’ associations, management companies, and collection entities
Counsel clients on potential risks and obligations under various contracts and purchase agreements
Manage client intake, including evaluation of consumer bankruptcy, condominium, and HOA concerns
Maintain regular client contact, building trust and rapport through clear communication
Coordinate with team members to develop strategic approaches for each consumer matter
Stay current on regulatory changes affecting timeshare, real estate, and consumer protection laws
Requirements
Minimum of 2–3 years practicing as a licensed attorney
Demonstrated interest in and commitment to consumer advocacy
Proven ability to manage a full docket of individual client matters concurrently
Experience with real estate transactions or consumer protection litigation preferred
Familiarity with client intake processes and consumer bankruptcy proceedings
Strong negotiation aptitude and comfort engaging with opposing parties
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications
Membership in good standing with a state bar; admitted to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction (Minnesota or North Carolina license a plus, but not mandatory)
